Signs of Hormonal Imbalance Hormone levels shift throughout life during ovulation, periods, pregnancy and menopause and it is a natural phenomenon in females. Mostly the hormones get back to normal levels after these phases pass but many times these hormone imbalances may indicate something much more serious. Following are some signs of hormonal imbalance you should not ignore. Nine Signs of Hormonal Imbalance: Uncontrolled Weight Gain:   If you are gaining weight suddenly and finding it really hard to lose weight, it indicates a hormonal imbalance. If your thyroid glands are unable to control the release of hormones correctly, then it may result in an increase of weight gaining hormones such as cortisol which will put extra fat in your belly if you do not manage the hormone levels timely. Decreased Sex Drive: Hormonal dis-balance also can cause fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone levels which may affect the sex drive by lowering libido.
